Is JLo Beauty Worth the Money? Read here to see...

The most commonly asked question that Jennifer Lopez has received over her years has been regarding her skin. In every picture, she's always glowing.

And it's obvious that JLo has learned a couple of things about looking after her skin after being in the highlight for so many decades. (plus maybe a bit of photo retouching…) This is probably why she felt obligated to share what she learned and create a skincare line with her fans.

After two decades of visualizing this skincare and makeup line, Jennifer Lopez finally stepped into the makeup industry and has bottled her famous shine for her fans. JLo Beauty has launched finally as of January 2020. Currently, the collection consists of seven skincare products.

If you’re a JLo fan, then you’re all ready to try the brand's products before even hearing anything regarding them.

According to JLo Beauty's website, the superstar aimed to launch a "luxurious but accessible" skincare and makeup line with products that offer both long-term and instant results.

But, the question remains; is JLo Beauty actually the way to a perfect face like hers?

Olive Oil Backlash:

When the superstar released her long-awaited skincare line, it was met with backlash. While promoting her brand, Jennifer Lopez denied having ever getting involved with injections or Botox, instead attributing her always-youthful complexion to olive oil and SPF — the former of which is the main ingredient in her skincare line.

Several of her fans were doubtful that Lopez could look so good without the help of wrinkle-removing injections.

But her new skincare isn't simply bottling up cooking oil and selling it at a profit. JLo's brand presents a very hyped-up JLo Beauty Olive Complex throughout the skincare and makeup line, but it is not the only ingredient; some dermatologist-loved elements also make up the products as hyaluronic acid, squalane, and niacinamide.

So are these overly-priced products —which start at $18 a sheet mask and climax at $118 for a serum — worth it?

This article will tell you whether they are!

$38 That Hit Single Cleanser and $118 That JLo Glow Serum:

Many of the brand's consumers have claimed that the celebrity products they used made their faces glow on the first day, but they started irritating the skin.

According to the brand, the serum is supposed to tighten your skin and feel nourishing immediately, but unfortunately, many didn't find that to be true. It dried very quickly, left a dim shine, and had a slight tightening effect — and it also left the customers with redness and burning sensations.

That Blockbuster Moisturizer and That Big Screen SPF Cream:

The Blockbuster moisturizer — which is meant to hydrate the skin and plump it with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid — has a unique texture and nourishes the skin.

The SPF-infused cream is also adequate, though the fans have noticed that the combination of moisturizers resulted in tiny balls of the products that didn't absorb into the skin. The customers felt like there were many extra products.

Rashes and Irritation on Skin:

Many fans and customers complained that their skin had become irritated, and acne started popping up after about five days of using the products. The serum continued to irritate the acne and dry patches. Unfortunately, some even woke up with a sort of rash about one week into trying the products. Dermatologists observed the inflammation as a sign of a slowed allergic reaction.

The red patches on the skin almost looked like sunburn, with similar spots on the chin area. The irritation didn't hurt initially, but when some fans tried soothing their skin with the Blockbuster moisturizer, it made the skin burn.

JLo Beauty's That Limitless Glow mask:

This product is basically JLo Beauty's serum in a sheet mask.

It is an $18 two-piece mask that is infused with an ounce of the brand's serum to tighten and lift the skin immediately. According to the brand, it's also meant to offer a luminous brightness, deep hydration, supernova-level glow, and velvety smoothness.

The acne on most of the fans' skin started burning around two minutes after wearing it. The mask didn't fit very well either.

After 10 minutes, the face was red and extremely irritated. We don't think you should use it again during a breakout.

The skin was still breaking out around ten days into using the products of the JLo Beauty line. The skin tone of most customers remained uneven, and the irritation and redness was unpredictable.

The fans noticed that their under-eye bags and frown lines were becoming less prominent; however, the results weren't as extreme as the brand claimed them to be.

JLo Beauty's That Fresh Take Eye Cream:

Fans noticed that the closest thing to a miracle in the makeup product line of JLo Beauty was the eye-cream, which retails for about $48.

The skin under the eyes was looking a lot smoother and blurred after using it, and there was an immediate tightening feeling.

JLo Beauty's That Blockbuster Moisturizer:

The only big issue with this cream is that it's ridiculously expensive, priced at $58.

JLo Beauty's highlighter, gel cleanser, and SPF moisturizer work well, doing what they promise, but not enough to buy them a second time.

That being said, everything is extremely overpriced. There are various other sunscreens that cost less than $54 and give better protection.

If you are a person with acne, sensitive skin, and dry patches, don't use the brand's mask or serum again.

JLo Beauty has a couple of good products, but the brand is not really better than anything already present in the market.

JLo Beauty says that most of its products deliver immediate results; most people observed that they just weren't there.

Most customers have agreed that they would rather not irritate their skin and spend so much money to achieve a simple shine. And even that's not completely guaranteed.

So is JLo Beauty worth it?

The answer is no, unfortunately. Everyone was excited and wanted to love JLo Beauty, and many of the fans are disappointed that the products didn't work for them. Most Dermatologists do not recommend these and it seems as this is just another cash grab by a celebrity.
